Come join the Devil Dog Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force with our fundraising event for the B-25 'Devil Dog', the only PBJ-1J version of the famous World War II medium bomber used by the U.S. Marine Corps. He's only 65 years old, is much too young to retire but old enough to need help. He has many more history lessons to teach regarding how our fathers and grandfathers fought and won the freedoms we enjoy today.

After being grounded for 23 months to overhaul the right engine and resolve some corrosion issues in the tail section and left wing, the 'Devil Dog' proudly flew to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for AirVenture 2009, the largest air show in the United States. He performed magnificently and thrilled many spectators with his proud history. But when we fired him up for the return trip he let us know that he just wasn't up to the flight home.

Since Medicare is not an option and we've exhausted all our funds from the last 23 months of work, we need to raise a minimum of $75,000 to get his left engine overhauled. The Devil Dog Squadron is hosting a Wine, Brew and Taste-of-the-Town fundraiser with Live Music from the 1940's for dancing along with a Silent Auction. All proceeds go to benefit the B-25 'Devil Dog'.

The benefit is now in the final stages of planning for this music filled event. We are asking for your help and support at this time. As you know, any charitable event relies upon the generosity of individuals and corporations alike to ensure a successful event. Whether you have a monetary donation, want to volunteer your time, donate auction Items or provide a corporate sponsorship - anything and everything will be appreciated. The Commemorative Air Force is a 501(c)3 organization and anything you donate is tax deductible. In addition, with your effort and help we can get the "Dog" back home to Georgetown. Help us give history a future!

We will be holding a private wine tasting for the Special Reserve Tables beginning at 5:15 PM. For more information on how you can help or to make a donation, contact Beth Jenkins at 512-869-1759.
